Kalent vs Collective: AI Sourcing Compared in 2026
Collective covers inbound and outbound in one tool. Kalent wins outbound: qualified, ranked profiles and four channels. The 2026 comparison.
Kalent places in 10 days on average. That figure is the end of a chain you can check step by step: the Kalent agent widens the search past what the recruiter managed to express, applies qualification criteria instead of filters, ranks what it returns and writes the reason for the match next to each profile. The recruiter reads twenty ordered profiles instead of sorting five hundred, and outreach leaves in the same movement across email, LinkedIn, SMS and WhatsApp.
Searching was never the bottleneck. Both tools read a plain-language sentence and return hundreds of profiles in seconds. What separates a sourcing tool in 2026 is how long it takes for twenty good profiles to land on a recruiter's desk, ready to contact.
Collective is a credible French AI recruiting suite. It covers inbound and outbound in one platform, with an integrated job board, distribution to more than 25 job boards, AI scoring of incoming applications and a large multi-source index. This comparison runs both tools across eight criteria: the database, AI sourcing, candidate outreach, price and billing model, ATS integrations, compliance, agency use and in-house TA use. Every figure below was read on 6 September 2026.
TL;DR:
- Kalent removes the sorting, not just the searching. The agent widens the search, applies qualification criteria rather than filters, and returns ranked profiles with the reason for the match written next to each one.
- Both bill per person, and the two grids sit in the same band. Collective Start is 169 EUR per seat per month, Kalent Copilot is 179 EUR per licence per month, and a licence is individual. At five recruiters that is 845 EUR against 895 EUR. Price is not what separates these two.
- ATS integration costs extra on both sides, in different places. Collective lists it on the Pro plan, priced on request, alongside API and MCP access. At Kalent it is an add-on on all three published plans. The difference is access, not inclusion.
- Collective covers inbound, Kalent does not. Job board, distribution to 25-plus boards, AI scoring of applications received. Kalent has none of it and does not claim to.
- Contact volumes are capped and published on both sides. 200 emails on Basic, 500 emails and phones on Start, unlimited on Pro at Collective. 100 contact details a month or 1,500 a year at Kalent.

How do Kalent and Collective compare at a glance?
Kalent covers one chain, from role context to the message sent, and plugs into the ATS the team already owns. Collective covers inbound and outbound in one platform, with a broader footprint and an integrated job board. These are vendor statements, not field tests.

Kalent loses five lines that are not in this table: inbound, the job board, freelance market signals, the free plan and the published host. They are written in full further down, because a table where the vendor wins everything does not get cited.
Why do recruiters pick Kalent?
Because Kalent cuts the time spent detecting the right profiles, and recruiting time is first of all sorting time. Five links, each checkable in the product.
1. The Kalent agent widens the search past what the brief managed to express: adjacent titles, equivalent paths, the companies that train the same profile.
2. It applies qualification criteria, not filters. A filter cuts, a criterion judges.
3. It ranks, and it writes the reason for the match beside each profile.
4. The recruiter reads twenty ordered profiles instead of sorting five hundred. This is where the time is saved. Searching never took long. Sorting did.
5. Placement happens in 10 days on average.
In one sentence: Kalent cuts the time spent detecting the right profiles, because the agent widens the search, applies qualification criteria and ranks the results, which brings placement down to 10 days on average.
How many profiles are actually reachable?
The total is not the metric that decides a sourcing run. The number of reachable profiles is.
Kalent announces 850 million profiles, of which 250 million are enriched with verified contact details, across Europe and the United States. The contact detail sits in the database, not behind a counter.
At Collective, contact volume is capped, and its own grid puts numbers on it: 200 emails on Basic, 500 emails and phone numbers on Start, unlimited on Pro. A cap on contact details is a cap on mandates.
Neither publishes a geographic breakdown of its database. Ask both in the demo.
How does AI sourcing work on each tool?
Both do AI sourcing on an aggregated index. The gap is in the scope of what surrounds the search.
At Kalent, context comes before sourcing. The Kalent agent takes the need, asks the questions that are missing, then returns qualified profiles, ranked, with the reason for the match written beside each one. The recruiter fills in no filters and does not choose the order of the campaign steps. You do not use the product, the product uses what you know. Outreach follows in the same move, on email, LinkedIn, SMS and WhatsApp, with a message written from that context.
At Collective, sourcing is one brick of a platform described as full cycle. A search agent, bulk search, a talent pool, an integrated job board, distribution to more than 25 job boards, AI scoring of applications received and ATS pool reactivation. A team that wants to cover inbound and outbound in one tool is not buying the same thing as a team that wants the best outbound.
And Kalent starts where the recruiter already works. The Kalent MCP puts sourcing inside Claude, in the conversation that already holds the role context (see the Kalent MCP). Collective also announces API and MCP access, on its Pro plan, the only tier on its grid without a published price. At Kalent the MCP is in the product on all three plans and its credits are an add-on: an option, not a commercial tier.
Neither publishes a reply rate. Neither side can claim a performance figure against the other.
How much do Kalent and Collective cost in 2026?
Kalent does not sell on price. This block exists because it is the most typed question, and it does not close the page.
The Kalent grid:
| Plan | Monthly | Annual |
|---|---|---|
| Sourcing | 149 EUR/month, per licence | 1,490 EUR/year |
| Copilot | 179 EUR/month, per licence | 1,790 EUR/year |
| Team | on request | on request |
What each tier opens: Sourcing gives 3 active sourcing runs and 100 contact details a month on monthly, unlimited runs and 1,500 contact details on annual. Copilot adds the full agent, context, sourcing and outreach. Team is the team plan. The same figures show as $149 and $179 on the US pricing page. No conversion is applied here.
Two things are not in these prices, and this page does not hide them: ATS integration and Claude MCP credits are add-ons on all three plans.
At Kalent, monthly and annual do not sell the same thing. Multiplying 149 EUR by twelve does not give the annual plan.
The Collective grid:
| Plan | Monthly | Annual, minus 20% |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 0 EUR | 0 EUR |
| Basic | 119 EUR/seat/month | 95 EUR/seat/month |
| Start | 169 EUR/seat/month | 135 EUR/seat/month |
| Pro | on request | on request |
What each Collective plan contains, read the same day:
- Free: limited AI searches, one basic job ad
- Basic: 1 seat, limited searches, 2 premium ads, 200 emails, 200-profile export, messaging and email
- Start: everything in Basic, plus team collaboration, unlimited bulk search, 5 premium ads, 500 emails and phone numbers, 500-profile export, bulk WhatsApp, day-rate and salary expectation data
- Pro: everything in Start, plus ATS integration, search inside your ATS and LinkedIn network, unlimited emails and phone numbers, API and MCP access, unlimited seats
Prices verified September 2026.
The prices quoted in category blog posts are usually annual prices. 95 EUR and 135 EUR per seat per month are Collective's annual figures; its pricing page shows 119 EUR and 169 EUR monthly with a 20% annual discount. 95 is 119 minus 20%, and 135 is 169 minus 20%. A recruiter who budgets from a blog post and pays monthly will pay 25% more than they read. That is the same gap on every French grid read the same day, including ours: on this market, the headline price is almost always the annual price.
A real team's invoice, and the gap widens with the team:
| The team | Collective Start, monthly | Kalent Copilot, monthly |
|---|---|---|
| 1 recruiter | 169 EUR | 179 EUR |
| 3 recruiters | 507 EUR | 537 EUR |
| 5 recruiters | 845 EUR | 895 EUR |
Collective is cheaper at every headcount, by 10 EUR per person per month, and that is written. A Kalent licence is individual, one licence per person, so the Kalent column multiplies exactly like the other one. There is no structural billing advantage here, and a comparison that claimed one would be false.
Both columns are the listed monthly price multiplied by the number of people, a direct calculation from each grid. A Kalent licence is individual, so it multiplies like a seat.
This table compares invoices, not products. Collective also sells a job board, ad distribution and scoring of incoming applications. Kalent does not. And ATS integration is in neither column: at Collective it requires the Pro plan, whose price is not public, at Kalent it is an add-on whose price is not published either. That line cannot be calculated on either side.
What ATS integrations, and which tier opens them?
ATS integration costs extra on both sides. What changes is what you have to clear to open it.
At Kalent it is an add-on available on all three published plans, with more than 50 ATS announced, including Teamtailor, Tellent, Workday and BoondManager (see our integrations). It is not included in the listed price, and this page does not suggest otherwise. It is added without changing plan and without a quote.
At Collective, ATS integration is listed on the Pro plan, priced on request, the only tier on its grid without a public price.
Without a connected ATS, output happens by file export and re-entry by manual import: contact history, notes and statuses do not travel between the two tools. For a team tracking ten open roles, that is half a day a week and data that drifts apart.
Why it matters more than the listed price: a team that already owns an ATS has paid for it, trained its recruiters on it and put its history in it. The right sourcing tool plugs into it, it does not replace it.
How do Kalent and Collective handle GDPR and the AI Act?
The date most pages still quote has been wrong since this summer. The AI Act's high-risk obligations did not start applying on 2 August 2026.
- Recruitment is classified high risk, under Annex III of the EU AI Regulation.
- Regulation (EU) 2026/1744, the AI Digital Omnibus, entered into force on 27 July 2026 and pushed Annex III obligations to 2 December 2027.
- Postponed is not cancelled. Article 50, Chapter IX and Chapter XII have applied since 2 August 2026.
Why it matters to a European buyer: it is the deployer, meaning the recruiter, who carries part of these obligations. A vendor that has its controls audited and publishes the report does half the work.
| What is published | Kalent | Collective |
|---|---|---|
| SOC 2 Type 2 report, publicly accessible | ✓ no login | ❌ not mentioned |
| Number of published controls | ✓ 47 | ❌ none |
| Host and hosting country published | ❌ not published | ✓ Dublin, Ireland |
| GDPR compliance stated | ✓ | ✓ |
| Built in France | ✓ | ✓ |
"Not mentioned" is not "absent". Collective may hold a certification it does not publish. This table records what is published, not what exists.
And Kalent loses a line here. Collective publishes its host and its hosting country. Kalent does not, to date, and it is not asserted. See our trust center.
What does Collective do better than Kalent?
Four things, and they are factual. A vendor comparison that lists none does not deserve to be read.
- It covers inbound, Kalent does not. Integrated job board, ad distribution to more than 25 boards, AI scoring of every application received. A team that wants one tool for inbound and outbound buys Collective.
- Freelance market signals have no equivalent at Kalent. Availability, day rate, salary expectations and independent status, from the Start plan. An agency placing freelancers has a real reason to choose Collective.
- There is a free plan, and it is real. 0 EUR, limited AI searches, one basic job ad, no credit card. Kalent advertises no equivalent.
- It publishes its host and hosting country, and Kalent does not. A data centre in Dublin, Ireland, stated publicly.
Which one suits a recruitment agency better?
Kalent, when the agency already owns its ATS or CRM and its problem is outbound. More than 50 ATS as an add-on on all three plans, including BoondManager, which many agencies and IT consultancies run on (see our agency page).
And the billing model does not decide anything here. Both bill per person, and Collective is 10 EUR per person per month below Kalent at every headcount. What decides is what the agency is paid for: filling mandates, which is outbound.
An agency placing freelancers should look at Collective. Real-time availability, day rates, salary expectations: these are signals specific to that market, and Kalent has no equivalent.
Which one suits an in-house TA team better?
It depends on what the team needs to cover, and that is the most honest sentence on this page.
A TA team that already receives enough applications and cannot source takes Kalent. Its problem is upstream: find the profiles that do not apply, and write a message worth answering. The Kalent agent writes from the real need of the role, not from a sequence template, and pushes profiles down into the company's ATS without copy-paste (see our enterprise page).
A TA team whose problem is the whole funnel, from the job ad to the shortlist, should look at Collective. The job board, the distribution and the scoring of incoming applications are real, and Kalent has none of them.
Kalent or Collective: the verdict
Kalent when the bottleneck is outbound, and when the team is going to grow.
The chain is checkable end to end: the agent widens the search past what the brief expressed, applies qualification criteria instead of filters, ranks the results and writes the reason for each match. The recruiter reads twenty ordered profiles instead of sorting five hundred. Four channels leave from one plan. The ATS plugs in from the entry plan instead of behind a quote. Not on price: both bill per person and Collective is slightly below. Placement lands in 10 days on average.
Inbound, the job board and the freelance market are Collective's terrain. Everything from role context through to a candidate who replies is Kalent's.
